Welcome to the Shobhian'Sarath site!
Shobhian'Sarath is a Dark Elf only roleplaying guild for Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning.
The guild will be situated on European and US roleplaying servers, with an open PVP ruleset if available.
Roleplaying:
Shobhian'Sarath means Cult of Unyielding Hatred in Drukh-Eltharin (the Druchii language). A fitting name for a guild locked in a millennia long struggle to reclaim our rightful homeland,
the ancient magical island of Ulthuan, and annihilating the unworthy High Elves who deny us in our birthright in the process .
The guild will be fully devoted to our great King Malekith, and his representatives, the Black Guard of Naggaroth, will be intrumental in making sure all factions within the guild will adhere to his wishes. While the official Dark Elf religion is the worship of Khaine, the God of Murder, those roleplayers with a taste for less "open" religious practices such as the forbidden worship of Slaanesh, the Chaos God of Decadence, can do so secretively. This will hopefully result in some interesting roleplay between religious subfactions within the guild.
Unfortunately the focus on Malekith also means that certain design decisions made by Mythic conflict with the guilds principles. In light of this, it is discouraged (but not disallowed) to play a male Sorcerer because of the Prophecy of Caledor, and Malekiths resulting ban on male magic users.
In addition, due to lore conflicts with the Disciple of Khaine in general it is greatly encouraged for Disciples to roleplay a different, more imaginative role that breaks any ties with the Temple of Khaine. One of the main reasons for this policy is that healing in the name of a God of Murder just doesn't make any sense. On our forum you can find an in-depth topic about the subject with many possible alternatives.
Roleplaying is encouraged as often as possible, and is required when saying something in public. In the guildchat roleplaying is not required (but obviously allowed) and its perfectly fine to discuss in guildchat about what movie you saw last week or other "fun stuff".
Aims:
Our main aim is very simple; having fun. This is our primary aim, anything else is subservient to this. However, naturally we aim to have many roleplaying events. We are happy to announce that we have found a suitable High Elf roleplaying guild, The Lost Guard of Tor Anrok, to be our rival High Elf guild that will act as our counterpart, and with whom we will organize interesting events like staged battles with formations and other RP-pvp events.
Other than that, we will naturally strife to become a guild that is feared by the lesser races, and our objective is to become known on our server as being one of the top guilds. Not in terms of time commitment or gear-progression, but in teamwork, mentality and of course combat prowess.
We will balance between pve and pvp content, although our focus will be on pvp. You can expect a ratio of something like 30-40% pve and 60-70% pvp, depending on the eventual quality of the pve content.
Amd yes, we will definitely claim (and hold) a castle for our own insidious goals....
Requirements:
This guild is for adults only! This is not because we think all young aged players are immature, but because roleplaying Dark Elves well can be pretty minor-unfriendly. In addition, many adults don't enjoy playing with minors. We are primarily a Dark Elf -only guild, but in certain speciific situations other races are allowed to join as well. (In very limited quantities and with a special guildrank of Emissary.) This is mainly so Dark Elf players can have friends and relatives playing another race in this guild with them.
While this guild will not be "hardcore" in any way, members are expected to invest time and be active on a regular basis. But our mentality is that we rather have 1 person in the guild that is serious about his character, roleplays well and is enjoyable to play with, but can play only a few hours a week, then 10 persons that lack all those traits but are online 24/7. That said, for the guild to work there has to be some regular activity by all members.
Though we will naturally try to organize many activities, none of them will be compulsory. You will not be required to show up for anything you don't want to.
Guild Leadership:
Shobhian'Sarath will be run by a council, made up by representatives of all major factions within the guild. Do not, however, make the mistake that they are all equal. In true Druchii fashion, there will always be one council member who is secretly in complete control, but who chooses to abide his time, making the other council members foolishly think they are in control.
What this means for the guild is that there will not be a single guildmaster that runs the show and who the guild is dependable upon in order to be able to function. All council members are equal in leadership status, and all important decisions will have to be made with consent of the majority of the council.
We hope this has made you interested in joining our guild, and we hope to see you on our forums and eventually in the game.
